Short post is short, but I wasn’t initially going to make a TBR. But I also say that all of the time so… am I really reliable here?
As always, I want to prioritize Black books year round, but TBR’s are fun to make. And I actually want to see if I can manage completing a damn TBR because I never do and I am sad.
I probably should have kept the list short, but we’re nothing if not ambitious.

Key:
🎧 – Audiobook
📚 – ARC

Reviews: Not Your Sidekick ; The Poet X
The Blood Trials – N.E. Davenport 📚 || Love is a Revolution – Renée Watson 📚 || Darling – K. Ancrum
My Sister, the Serial Killer – Oyinkan Braithwaite 🎧 || Full Disclosure – Camryn Garrett 📚
With the Fire on High – Elizabeth Acevedo || Not Your Villain – C.B. Lee || Cinderella is Dead – Kalynn Bayron 📚
Not all of these books are by black authors. This I know if anything it’s only one author. However, I really trust C.B. Lee with her representation and these are all of the unread Black books I own at the moment soooo I’m trying to empty my shelves, you know?

As you all can see, my Black books are lacking. So, give me some of your favorite Black reads? Have you read any of these? Did you like them? Let me know in the comments below!

I have read Darling, Cinderella is Dead, With the Fire on High, and My Sister the Serial Killer. With the Fire on High was definitely my favourite but they are all great! I want to read more from K. Ancrum and am buddy reading The Weight of the Stars this month!

I’ve been curious about My Sister the Serial Killer for so long, but haven’t gotten a chance to read it. I loved With the Fire on High, but I love everything by Elizabeth Acevedo. Recent favs by Black authors for me include Mahogany L. Browne’s Chlorine Sky, Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark, and Pet by Akwaeke Emezi.

I listened to a sample of My Sister the Serial Killer and instantly bought it! I’m excited to start it soon.
Chlorine Sky? I own a copy but the topic hits a little close to home, but I want to get more into prose so that may be another one I read this month 🙂
