The Official 2018 TBR Pile Challenge Sign-Up Post

The Official 2018 TBR Pile Challenge hosted at RoofBeamReader. I’m excluding some rules for this post, if you want to view them, click the link above.

Last minute post is last minute but… I’m doing another year round reading challenge! ::nervous laugh:: You can’t say I’m not making next year busy :). When you see my list, you’ll see all of the sequels because of my avoidance of finishing series… but I digress.

The Goal: To finally read 12 books from your “to be read” pile (within 12 months).

1. Each of these 12 books must have been on your bookshelf or “To Be Read” list for AT LEAST one full year. This means the book cannot have a publication date of 1/1/2017 or later (any book published in the year 2016 or earlier qualifies, as long as it has been on your TBR pile). Caveat: Two (2) alternates are allowed, just in case one or two of the books end up in the “can’t get through” pile.

2. Books must be read and must be reviewed (doesn’t have to be too fancy) in order to count as completed.

3. Crossovers from other challenges are totally acceptable, as long as you have never read the book before and it was published before Jan. 15 2018.

*Note: You can read the books on your list in any order; they do not need to be read in the order you have them listed. Audiobooks count. Graphic novels count. Poetry collections? Essay collections? All good!  As you complete a book – review it, go to your original list and turn that title into a link to the review. This will keep the comments section here from getting ridiculously cluttered. For an example of what I mean, Click Here.

Monthly Check-Ins: On the 15th of each month, there’s going to be a “TBR Pile Check-In.” This will allow participants to link-up their reviews from the past month and get some recognition for their progress. There will also be small mini-challenges and giveaways to go along with these posts (Such As: Read 6 books by the June Check-in and be entered to win a book of your choice!)

  1. Saga is such an incredible series! I hope you love it. I also love the Percy Jackson series (as well as all the spin-offs… obsessed!). Pride and Prejudice is, I think, one of the best novels ever written (and pretty impressive considering it was one of the first!). I enjoyed City of Bones, too, although I have some problems with the author. What a great reading year you have ahead! Good luck & thanks for joining in the fun!

  2. Hi wow we have the same book for this challenge list (The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly)! That was exciting 🙂 I have wanted to read Saga too, how did you find it?

Let’s conquer this tbr pile together this year!

      1. Yeah this will be my first ‘cult’ read too, I have no idea what I’m going to find but I’m so ready (I’ve wanting to read that for 2 full years now!)

        Good luck to us both~

Oh you’ll read Vicious too!? May I say your taste in books is impeccable! ;)) I love her Darker Shade of Magic series. Lila & Kell 😍

      1. I know that feeling. I struggled to read in college, but made it a priority and read about 50 books a year (mostly during breaks, weekends, and summer XD), but this past year I’ve far exceeded that goal! It’s so nice to have time to read again!
