Top Ten Tuesday- Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday (1)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

I feel like I talk about this all the time. I’ve mentioned quite a bit my condition of not finishing series? Because… commitment issues? We’re not going to talk about my main three series that I always talk about and delve deep into my Goodreads TBR.

TT 17

Lady Thief { Scarlet #2 } by A.C. Gaughen

It’s crazy how much I disliked the first one, decided to re-read it months ( a year?) later and really liked it. But, I’ve been apprehensive about buying this one, especially with how the last one ended.

TT 17.2

Unseemly Science { The Gas-Lit Empire #2 } by Rod Duncan

Highly enjoyed the first one… couldn’t find it in me to buy the second one. HOWEVER, I put it for the 2018 TBR Pile Challenge, so I’m actually going to read it this month. I’m making moves, guys 😉 .

TT 17.3

Enemy Exposure { The Raven Files #2 } by Meghan Rogers

It was too expensive. That’s why I haven’t bought it yet. $10.99 is a bit high for an unemployed teen. And there’s been no news of the finale 😥 .

Vicious { Villains #1 } by V.E. Schwab

Nerves? Hype? Both? Either way, I’m glad I waited because NEW COVERS BABY not shown above.

TT 19.4

1984 by George Orwell

My dad made me listen to the last chapter via audiobook (wasn’t feeling the audiobook btw) and the premise sounded interesting… so I bought it and haven’t been in the mood to be that level of ‘woke’.

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet { Wayfarers #1 } by Becky Chambers

There were so many instances where I almost bought this… but I could never find the cover above… it was always the ugly paperback cover. Don’t judge me.

TT 17.6.jpg

Spectacle { Menagerie #2 } by Rachel Vincent

I bought the first book in hardcover back in 2016… This one doesn’t have a hardback copy. So now I have to buy the e-copy… It can wait (don’t worry, the waiting period is almost over.)

book review 34.2

*Whichwood { Furthermore #2 } by Tahereh Mafi

I’m waiting on the paperback version. I tried to convince myself that it wouldn’t matter, that just because Furthermore is a paperback on my shelf doesn’t mean it won’t bother me… it bothered me.

*If anyone knows when the paperback comes out, let me know. I’m desperate. please.

Room by Emma Donoghue

I watched the movie with my mom (in 2016? I don’t remember) and loved it. Then, I immediately added it to my TBR. I’m not really ready to read something like this, though. Hopefully sometime this year.

TT 19.3

Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

I went on an impulsive buying thingy and bought the entire trilogy… and on my shelf it has sat because the density and size intimidate me.

  1. I bought the Cruel Prince last month and still have yet to pick it up. I think I’m just waiting until the hype dies down lol.

I want to read Vicious or anything written by Victoria Schwab. I’ve heard such awesome things about her writing style 🙂

      1. I bought mine at Sam’s Club but mostly because it was cheaper lol.

I’m not sure which book of hers I’m going to start with.

  2. You need to read The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, it’s amazing! But I’d wait for the pretty cover too tbh 😂 I’ve also had Whichwood on my tbr for too long. I should get to it soon, I loved Furthermore so much! Also, your blog is looking SO PRETTY!
