September/October/November Wrap Up… a.k.a Where Have I Been?

Hi. How have you been? Oh me? I’m cool.

Listen, I wasn’t going to make a wrap up to be honest. You all know how much I disliked combining wrap ups from the first and I hoped last time I had done it, but I felt like explaining where I’ve been as well as the future of Flying Paperbacks.

We’ll stick with the normal format for now, and go into explanations later.

We’re back with the rep. indicators! This idea was Romie’s @RomieWeDeserveLove so credit for the idea for these markers goes there!

🎧 – Audiobook

📚 – ARC

🌈 – LGBTQIAP+ rep.

☀️ – BIPOC rep.

🧠 – Mental Illness rep.

♿ – Disability rep.

  • Beast of Prey { Beast of Prey #1 } – Ayana Grey ✰✰✰ 📚☀️

Currently Reading…

  • The Complete Tales on Winnie the Pooh – A.A. Milne*

So, I don’t know if I’ve mention the fact that I decided to lower my Goodreads goal from 100 to 50? So technically I’m on track with my schedule! I’ll go into why in another post probably with my end/beginning of the year thing but yeah…

At this point, I’m going into reading for quality > quantity and so far…. I’ve been missing more than I’ve been hitting.

*let us also recognize that I will never finish this f*cking book oh my god.

Another failed TBR post which… I can still participate in? Considering Fall doesn’t end until December 21st… according to Google.

wow that actually made me happy, I haven’t failed yet ahaha.

Sooo, I’ve finally buckled down and watched Squid Game…. it was okay but I think the hype dampened my enjoyment. My expectations were too high and the main character? I hated him. Absolute LOATHED.

I showed my friend Bad Hair which was an EXPERIENCE– ya’ll know I love bad movies…. and now that I’m making this list I know that it’s too long to go into detail about each one so I shall make a list:

  • A Walk to Remember

Well, here we are for my explanation.

I’ve been busy… Well, not like that… but socially I’ve been busy. Fun fact, I’m a bit of a recluse? Don’t go out much? Don’t have people to go out with??? And 2021 has been a year of so many changes for me: new friends, new boyfriend, new goals and interest and overall changes— It’s come to a point where I’ve needed to evaluate where I want to go with Flying Paperbacks. Because in the beginning, this was all I had. I was home-schooled, friend-less, just a teen with no real direction or plan in sight. No memories I wanted to make. Just a girl in her room, reading 200+ books a year with all the time in her hands.

Now look at me. Doing things.

I’m trying to be not so vague because again, I do want to elaborate on some things in a discussion post some time in the future. But, so far that’s where I’ve been: enjoying life in the middle of an ongoing pandemic.

Don’t expect many post during December, maybe a review here and there. I’m waiting for a fresh new start with the new year.

Um… how have you all been? Any new books being read? Any I need to add to my TBR? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I’m glad you’re enjoying your life and doing things! GO YOU! 😀 (The times I just lived my life were also the ones I mostly found myself straying from the blog. I totally get it!) Looking forward to your post ❤

  2. Wonderful post!! I completely understand the “socially busy”; technically I am not swamped by work but I have been going out a lot, making new experiences and new friends and I haven’t had time for my book blog and I realized that it was okay! You deserve to experience all of these things and we will be here no matter what! 🥰
