May Wrap-Up

Wow, I actually forgot how to write one of these…

Oh well.

I did a cute little hiatus, so there was no actual point in writing a wrap-up for March or April and seeing as I am… *checks Goodreads Challenge* 19 BOOKS BEHIND… I’m actually surprised I read anything at all.

I’m going to be using my rep indicators in my wrap up. This idea was Romie’s @RomieWeDeserveLove so credit for the idea for these markers goes there!

🌈 = books with lgbt+ representation

🌞 = representation of people of colour

♿ = disability rep

🌸 = mental illness rep

Seedling on Microsoft Windows 10 October 2018 Update= buddy read

✔ = was on my monthly tbr

📚 = physical book

Memo on Microsoft  = ARC

  • Take a Hint, Dani Brown {The Brown Sisters #2} – Talia Hibbert ✰ + review
  • The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms {Inheritance #1} – N.K. Jemisin
  • If It Makes You Happy – Claire Kann DNF @ 19%

I’m currently buddy- reading A Heart so Fierce and Broken and I should be done today if I’m sticking to the schedule (you can tell I wrote this waaaaay ahead of time), so I’ll count this one on next months wrap up.

I discuss my bookish slump in depth and discover some things about myself, I did an April Fools post

I did the stuck at home book tag and made a Pride TBR.

These past few months away from the book community has been very self reflective in a way. I’ve made some self discoveries and overall just have being trying to find an identity outside of all things bookish. It’s been fun.

I made a gaming twitter! Mostly for Animal Crossing, but I do play other games, I promise! I’ve been keeping it private for a while, but I’m thinking of intertwining my two twitters… I’m still deciding.

Now, I can’t not talk about this: the world is going through some things right now. And it’s hitting me kind of hard. I’m not the most eloquent person, but this must be said: black lives matter, they will ALWAYS matter and now isn’t the time to stay silent. Here’s some petitions you can sign and places you can donate linked below:

What have you guys been reading? How’s your Animal Crossing island coming? Any bookish plans for Pride month? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Thanks for the links for ways to help. Black lives DO matter, and I really hope we see a significant change. It’s been a lifetime coming.

I’m going to try and read as many LGBT+ books as I can this month for Pride. I’m always reading these books anyway, but it seems fitting to show them off more this month, especially since parades and all that are cancelled due to Covid.
