My Pottermore Sorting and being a fake fan || Blogmas 2019

It’s the cozy, Christmas season! And being as such, what’s the one book most people associate Christmas with??????

I saw this post on The Little Contemporary Corner and decided never talk about Harry Potter. EVER. And that’s because I haven’t read all the books (I finished book three two year ago), yet I now my Hogwarts house, my patronus… all that jazz. So basically I’m a fraud and a fake fan.

Now I say fraud because I did all of this when I not only hadn’t read any of the books, but I didn’t plan on reading them.

Hell, even the movies were some I watched out of order: I watched the first one in my 7th grade English class and saw the last one at a midnight screening. Everything in between had NOT been watched.

But getting your Hogwarts house is just something you do. Especially when you’re a reader, you know? So here we are. Doing the thing.

HOUSE: Slytherin

Or perhaps in Slytherin,
You’ll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means,
To achieve their ends.

And I am a very proud Slytherin at that… it gives me street cred.

PATRONUS: Black Mamba

“[…] black mambas can be associated with great wisdom and a sharp mind. Snakes are powerful symbols, and those whose patronus takes the form of a serpent tend to also be powerful people in kind. The black mamba is unique in that it only forms for those who show a special kind of mind. Though gentle friends and purveyors of entertainments of the mental sort, black mambas are cunning, patient individuals that can hold onto grudges for a very long time if wronged. While they tend to be quiet, sometimes even shy, and not be wont to impose, it doesn’t meant that they can’t get things done. When applied correctly, a black mamba has the potential to a master planner, calculating and observant, willing to stay close to even their rivals if it means achieving what they’re trying to do.”

Can’t even lie… it’s kind of accurate. With the grudges and being quiet and all of the good stuff they’re saying (yes, I’m gloating).

Also, I had a pet snake (a Ball Python to be precise) when I was a child and we were thick as thieves. R.I.P Snakey, we’ll never forget you U.U .

WAND: Hazel wood with a Dragon heartstring core 12 ½” and Hard flexibility

A sensitive wand, hazel often reflects it’s owners emotional state, and works best for a master who understands/can manage their own feelings. Can also detect water underground. As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power and are capable of more flamboyant spells. It does tend to be easiest to turn to the Dark arts, though it will not incline that way on its own. (I also learned wand sizes correlate to compensation??? So “abnormally short wands select people whose character lacks in something.” [x]

Again, I don’t know much about the Harry Potter world, but I think that’s good? Right??

MY ILVERMORNY HOUSE: Pukwudgie

“Named by James Steward, after the fiercely independent magical creature the Pukwudgie; Pukwudgie house is sometimes considered to represent the heart of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Pukwudgie favours healers.”

This is one where I don’t know how to feel? I mean, at first I thought I’d be more of an intellect and be put in a different house, but I’m not mad at it: healers are badass, peeps.

Sooo yeah! That’s all of my Hogwarts info and stuff… I won’t ask too much, just your Hogwarts house because THAT too a lot of work… but let me know!

  1. There’s no such thing being a fake fan for me ahaha, when it comes to Harry Potter, it’s just so universal!

Apparently I’m a hufflepuff?? I always get that but NO ONE see that coming. Everyone thinks I’m either gryffindor, slytherin or ravenclaw- basically everything- but never hufflepuff 😀 I already forgot about my patronus and wand tbh, it’s been so long! I haven’t visited my pottermore after they got revamped that deleted my account :/
