sPoOkY TbR || 2019

Soooooooooooo… there’s a reason this post is a day late.

I was trying to do the most honestly, participate in some read-a-thons… that sort of thing…  and I realized that… that’s just going to stress me out.

So I’m not doing it. I’m sticking to my usual low-stress TBR. Cheers.

2018 TBR

Lair of Dreams || Keeping this as low-stress as possible… if it gets read, then Before the Devil Breaks You Is definitely hopefully going to make this list.

Review: The Diviners

Pumpkinheads || This is probably the least creepy read on this list, but… pumpkins? Very fall vibes ya know?

Review: Almost Midnight

Everfound || I’d really like to finish this series before the year is up and what’s the best time of year to read about the dead, huh?

Reviews: Everlost; Everwild

The Mermaid || I have entirely, un-creepy reasons for adding this to the list… don’t really know if it is creepy… I know Henry is know for creepy reads though…

how many times can I say creepy?

Review: The Girl in Red

The Bone Houses || This is actually an ARC that… I haven’t read on time :/ But, I adore Jones’ books, so you know I’ll be on top of this soon.

Review: The Hearts We Sold

Escaping from Houdini || On the theme of catching up on series 😉 . Andddddd if this one gets read, Becoming the Dark Prince will hopefully be next 😀 .

Reviews: Stalking Jack the Ripper; Hunting Prince Dracula

Down Among the Sticks and Bones || I haven’t really been following my 2019 resolutions and listening to audiobooks… and this is the perfect spooky book… look at that cover honestly.

Review: Every Heart a Doorway

Now, as always— I probably won’t get to all of these… but I sure am going to try.

I don’t really read spooky books, so I’m always down for recommendations! Or, if you’ve read any of these, are they any good? Let me know!

  1. Omg I loved Down Among the Sticks and Bones. I would say it is tied with In An Absent Dream for my favorite book in that series! Jack and Jill are such a cool pair of characters, and the book is so good at pointing out problems with societal expectations for kids, especially girls. It’s just so dang awesome.

  2. I just read Pumpkinheads not that long ago and LOVED it! I also just picked up The Bone Houses and I can’t wait to get to it. As for spooky book recs I like Bag of Bones by Stephen King, The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes and The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson.

  4. Awesome TBR! I read Escaping from Houdini in August, and I liked it! Hunting prince dracula is still my favorite, but it wasn’t a bad installment at all! I have a copy of The Bone Houses arriving in the mail soon and I’m SO excited to read it! I’ve owned the first Everlost book for a while but I’ve never read it! Odd, since I adore Shusterman. I’m hoping to pick it up this spooky season! ❤
