May Wrap Up + June TBR // Hiatus = productivity + potential giveaway

Last month wasn’t the best for me mentally. My cat died last week and I didn’t find the best sleep until recently (like… this week)… it was just an overall mental spiral for the entire month; as soon as I found a positive, I’d get dragged back down. But right now, we’re only going to try to look at the positives.

I do have a ton of post lined up (mostly discussion post… guess I had a lot to talk about), I hit 400+ followers (thank you SO MUCH ❤ Hoping to do a giveaway soon 😉 ) and I have a new segment I want to introduce to the blog, so I hope you guys like it 🙂 .

I’m going to be using my rep indicators in my wrap up. This idea was Romie’s @RomieWeDeserveLove so credit for the idea for these markers goes there!

♿= disability rep

PRIDE MONTH TBR!! I’m still looking for more recs, so hook me up!

I talk about my fear of Hiatuses (and why I took one) and recommended some not so light contemporaries.

I do the X-FILES tag, the Mystery Blogger Award and talk about my book buying habits

More current faves I tried something new and I show you guys my thought process leading up to graduation.

It’s wild how much I managed to read last much. Yes, it was a darker month and most of them were mediocre 3 star reads, but I have high hopes for June. I’ve been home alone for a week (my mother went to Africa… WITHOUT ME 😡 she’ll be back tomorrow ) so I did do a reading sprint (which you would have seen on Goodreads when I added 20 million books to my currently reading shelf O.o ) But in kind of exciting news: I may be getting a job? And a license??

  • The Loneliest Girl In the Universe – Lauren James
  • Heart of Thorns – Bree Barton
  • City of Islands – Kali Wallace
  • The Life and Death Parade – Eliza Wass
  • The Forgotten Mountain – Heather Lyons

June is PRIDE MONTH !! So, I have a few LGBTQIAP+ books that I will try to read. I didn’t put them up there but they are on my invisible TBR, don’t worry.

Anyway… not going to lie: The Loneliest Girl in the Universe is kind of iffy for me. And it’s because I’ve been seeing so many mixed reviews, so of course I’m going to go in with no expectation, but do you know how long it takes for me to lose said expectations? It’s an actual process o.O .

No, I didn’t get to Monsters of Men or finish Pride and Prejudice what’s new; I did get 2 hours in but I have faith that with the lack of school I have, MoM will get done… I won’t add it to my official TBR, but I’ll put it in the universe. So, wish me luck!

  2. Congratulations on 400! I hope your health gets better soo, and that June is a really good month for you ❤ It's a shame that you didn't read any 5-star books in May, but hopefully this month will be better — I think you might enjoy The Loneliest Girl, I quite liked it! (NOt 5-stars loved it, but liked it.) 🙂
