I’ve been recognized!! Thank you Beth for tagging me, I truly appreciate it<3 This is actually a first for me (not the award thing, but this award is a first… sorry I’m rambling) So, without any further ado, lets get into it:
Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
6. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
How did I start my blog?
I feel like I’ve told a watered down version of this story? So today you all shall get the full one 🙂 .
When I first started reading (back when I was 14) I always wanted to discuss and gush or even rant about books. Family was a no-no, dad is overly religious and thinks reading anything but the bible is demonic and though mom tries to be interested, her attention span is short… and older siblings don’t care. But then, I’d see these bloggers and think I’m not creative enough, articulate enough, bold enough to do this. So for years, I sat in the background, from the outside looking in. Not even posting on twitter (I think I mentioned my issues with social media). Finally, September 2017 came, I’m home-schooled sitting at home all day everyday, no hobbies and a whole lot of books I want to talk about. And I think, why not? Nobody will see it. But that doesn’t matter. I need to be bold for once. And here I am. Being bold in a small, yet mighty way at least for me 🙂 .
Two pieces of advice for bloggers
I always have my do it for yourself and only yourself motive, but I guess you should also be consistent. Don’t give up. I feel this is one of the nicest communities I’ve been in and everyone is so helpful. Blogging takes up a lot of your time, so time management is also a big must.
Nomination Time:
Lillian @Lair of Books
Anna @Reading Peaches
Bree @In Love and Words
Larissa @Book Bosomed Blonde
Alysha @Floral Reads
Danielle @Life of a Literary Nerd
Rimpy @Rimpy Reads
Deanna @Dee Reads Things
Shelby @By Air and Land
Nia @Shades of Paper
Brittany @Language of Rebellion
Crystal @Paper Royalty
… and anyone else who’d like to do this! You are now recognized how long can I keep this joke going before it becomes too much?
Great post! I was only home-schooled through high-school, but I think that time is when my love for reading was renewed.

Lovely post! I’m home-schooled too btw, so it awesome how I have some time to read when others would be in school. 🙌🏻

I think I already did this waaaay, way back (my blog is a tiny dinosaur and I have been doing this for far too long) but thank you so much for recognising me haha that always feels nice 😀 and I like your advice. You should definitely blog mostly for yourself, but the community is a great bonus ❤ wouldn't be the same without it!

Congrats on the nomination LaRonda! ❤ ❤ ❤ & I hope you've felt welcome in the bookish community, I think you'll find many like-minded souls looking for others to rant & rave about books with 🙂 Consistency is definitely good advice! thank you for nominating me, it's been a while since I last posted this one :0)

Your blogging story reminds me so much of a quote I read recently which said, "What good are wings without the courage to fly." I feel like you taking the leap into blogging even though you had reservations was a giant leap for you… and you've certainly taken flight. ❤
