It’s been a month lovely people, but I’m back with the T5W post 😀 . Since this weeks topic was a freebie, I decided to discuss books I want to see on T.V. or on the big screen. My apprehension on book to screen adaptations are a bit muddled, but as a concept, these are books i’d love to see on some type of screen.
The Illuminae Files series – Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
This would be a great movie and seeing how the Sci-Fi genre on screen has evolved, I think it can be done write. I mean, the first movie is basically zombies in space and it’s sequel is worms (though I guess there is a complicated factor in this one as well, but it can be handled well, too). I have yet to read the finale, but I’m not doubting how amazing it could look in theaters 🙂
Sky in the Deep – Adrienne Young
The History channel can definitely handle this… and it may or may not be because they already have a Viking’s show… But this book was amazing— the action, the characters, the death… yeah, I’d be ready to see that.
Arc of a Scythe series – Neal Shusterman
With all of the other Dystopian books to movie adaptations, I think this series would be a good addition. It parallels our society today with the questions the characters raise during the story as well as being an interesting concept.
The Shadow Game series – Amanda Foody
I’d love for this to be a T.V. series, though I don’t want the CGI to ruin anything T_T I mean, The City of Sin, magic, Slytherin girls and Bisexual boys, murder… I think I’m noticing a pattern…
A Million Junes – Emily Henry
I tried to step away from the Fantasy genre and went with a Contemporary, though this is a magical realism story dealing with grief and has a Rome and Juliet side plot. I don’t know, it reminded me of the Raven Boys show that’s supposed to be coming up (I went on Tumblr and the fan edits for that made me anticipate a show for a series I haven’t even read yet…) and thought hey, this weird, creepy setting would be a great show on MTV or something…
Yeah, the fact that most of these shows have death and murder and badass girls in them doesn’t reflect my personality at all (◎_◎;) …
Would you see any of these on screen? Any books you’d like to see adapted? Let me know in the comments below!
