Top Ten Tuesday- Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested In Reading

Top Ten Tuesday (1)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by  The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

This weeks topic was a bit harder than usual because when I become uninterested in a book, I put it out of mind, out of sight. So most of these are probably going to be sequels.

TT 18

The Infinite Sea { The 5th Wave } by Rick Yancy

So… do not judge me but… I did spoil myself. And I’m not here for relationship problems, characters I don’t care about POV (I only care about Cassie and Evan) bitchy main characters, etc. And I wasn’t really over the moon about the first one either, I was going to try this one out just because but… nah.

TT 18.2

Earth’s End { Air Awakens #3 } by Elise Kova

Again, wasn’t really over the moon about this series. Or the relationship. Or the love interest. The MC was cool, though. And this is a shame because I love Kova’s Loom Saga. Out of all of the books on this list, this is the only one that has even an inkling of a chance of coming back into my good graces.

The Queen and the Cure { The Bird and the Sword #2 } by Amy Harmon

I didn’t like the first book after I re-read it. I actually came to really dislike it. But before, I kind of liked it. Which led to me wanting to read this and it follows a different set of characters but… there are other things to read.

TT 18.4

Court of Wings and Ruin { A Court of Thorns and Roses #3 } by Sarah J. Maas

Book two was amazing Five stars. Loved it. I just don’t like Feyre’s sisters. Both of them. She didn’t get the apology she deserved and I heard (and it’s implied based on the second books’ ending) that they have a bigger… presence? in this one. And the overabundance of sex is unnecessary.

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

Funny story: I actually bought this book back in… October? and it got lost in the mail… and I couldn’t get a refund… If that’s not a sign then I don’t know what is. No but in all seriousness, not only am I not mentally ready for this read, I’m kind of realizing I’m not the biggest fan? Of his works?

The Becoming of Noah Shaw { The Noah Chronicles #1 } by Michelle Hodkin

I’ve heard so many things about what happens in this book that I know I won’t agree to… and I wasn’t a big Noah Shaw fan in the first place?

TT 18.6.jpg

The Mirror King { The Orphan Queen #2 } by Jodi Meadows

Wasn’t too hype on the first one, but I did plan on giving the second one a chance… then lost interest. It’s been too long since I even looked at any of them.

Ruins { Partials Sequence #3 } by Dan Wells

I actually bought this one… After stewing on the second books’ events, I realized I was more upset than I first believed I was and took the books off my shelf. And it’s too long.

TT 18.8

Seeker { Riders #2 } by Veronica Rossi

I feel like a broken record but… after a while (and a few attempted re-reads) I finally acknowledged that I wasn’t … I didn’t like the first one so…

Ferocious { Vicarious #2 } by Paula Stokes

I thought this one would be better than the first one ( I rated that one a three star?) but I’m not going to try because there are too many books on my TBR how long do you think I can use this excuse?

  1. I feel the same about Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. I wanted to read it because almost everyone was reading it and most of them were loving it. But now the storm has passed a bit and people just don’t seem as enthusiastic about it as they used to be.
    Great TTT!

  2. I honestly have been having those kinds of days where no matter how hyped i was for the book, I just can’t get into it and end up discarding the book without finishing it. It feels awful, but sometimes it’s just not the right time for a book.

  3. I’d completely forgotten about The Bird and the Sword, I was really excited about it when it came out – but now I think I’ll pass. I’m not really interested in The Orphan Queen books, but omg those cover though.

      1. I saw it with my friends and what we learned from it was 1) the love interest’s eyes were too far apart and 2) even in the alien apocalypse when food is scarce, there will be no shortage of eyeliner for the goth girl xD

  4. I was so pissed at Feyre’s sisters throughout the entire series and they don’t cut her any slack and downright do not recognise how much she has done for them, so I am on board with your dislike of them. Sometimes I think they grew on me, but in the end their behaviour is still terrible.
